Spring Equinox & Ostara Ceremony: Sacred Rose Of Jericho & Candle Magick

PLEASE NOTE: ROSE OF JERICHO & CANDLE MAGICK RITUAL: This is a Spring Equinox Ceremony where you may use a Rose of Jericho OR Candle Magick in your ritual. You are of course free to use both, though I recommend choosing one for simplicity's sake. The reason we're including both is because I LOVE Rose of Jericho for springtime rituals, but it's not always easy to find on short notice and I want to make sure everyone can participate in this Equinox Magick! Candles are always, always beautiful and Magickal ~

IF YOU'RE WORKING WITH ROSE OF JERICHO: I would love to provide these for everyone but alas, this is a virtual event and you will need to purchase your own Rose of Jericho in advance (you can also substitute a Candle if you don't get it together in time!). Your local metaphysical shop will likely have these but they can occasionally be in short supply so don't wait til the last minute. Likewise, you can order them online - just give yourself plenty of room for delayed shipping! In addition to your Rose of Jericho, you will want to have spring water and a medium-sized ritual bowl on hand.

IF YOU'RE WORKING WITH CANDLE MAGICK: Choose any candle in any color that feels good. Taper candles are nice because you can anoint them with oil and herbs easily without worrying the herbs will catch fire in the wick. Gather any springtime oils or herbs you like (a plain, simple candle is A-okay too), or any oils and herbs that correspond vibrationally to your intention. It will also be helpful to have paper towels and a garbage can on hand :)

SET YOUR SPACE: I also recommend gathering a yoga mat, pillow, blanket and eye covering for the healing meditation, water to drink and anything else you may need to be comfortable. You may also like to set your sacred space in advance with seasonal decorations, aromatherapy and anything that makes you feel magickal ~

Hello friends! I'm Rebekah, an Astrologer, Good Witch, Energy Healer, Quantum Explorer & Ceremonial Guide and this is a meeting place of Magick, Metaphysics and Grace. Spring Equinox is a time of blessed renewal and life. Let's join together in Sacred Ceremony to invoke the Magick and beauty of the season as we mark the the Aries Ingress and the Astrological New Year, also known in the ancient Celtic tradition as Ostara or the Spring Equinox, a time when the day and night are equal in length.

We'll cast a Magick circle and honor this time of seasonal balance and new life, learn about the astrological (energetic) shifts in flow at this time, and work some renewal Magick with the most beautiful and sacred Rose of Jericho, also known as the Resurrection plant.

As always, we'll connect with the Force of Infinite Love, Magick, Grace & Quantum Possibility - by whatever you you call It - within us and everywhere around us to attune to the highest possibilities of cosmic unfoldment for the highest good of all, with harm to none. Magick!

ROSE OF JERICHO MAGICK

"This plant grows in the valley of the Dead Sea on the edge of Jericho in the Judean Desert, and in Christianity, is called the 'Resurrection Plant' as it symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus. It is said that it was granted the gift of immortality when Mary placed a shroud belonging to her scared baby on it. The rose blossomed beside the sacred family while they fled to Egypt, it bloomed on the day of Jesus’ birth and dried up and closed at the time of his crucifixion and opened up again on Easter Day."

The Resurrection Plant | The Rose of Jericho is actually not a rose, but a dried mossy brown plant that has the miraculous ability to return to life after years of dormancy upon receiving water, blooming a beautiful green. It's known in many magical and spiritual traditions to bring happiness, prosperity and blessings. The water that the plant sits in also has powerful and very high-vibrational properties. You can use this sacred water to bless yourself or any objects, or even sprinkle it around your home to bless the space.

CANDLE MAGICK

The candles are a beautiful physical talisman carrying new energy, the blessings of our fellow travelers and the grace of The Divine to support us on the journey once we leave this sacred space. When the candle has burned all the way down, the working is done!

A plain candle is more than enough, but if you'd like to add oils and herbs you can research which ones correspond vibrationally to your intention. There are color correspondences as well but I always recommend just choosing the color that feels best. Vibration isn't always as clear-cut as a general list :) Most importantly, be free in your Magick and ritual processes and don't allow yourself to be intimidated by pre-existing structures and rules. Cunningham's Enclopedia of Magickal Herbs is a wonderful resource for herbs, but plenty of information will pop up in a google search.

THE ASTROLOGY

I'll also give a brief overview of the major Astrological aspects of 2021: the shift of both Jupiter & Saturn into the sign of Aquarius, and the Saturn-Uranus square. This will help us understand the currents we're swimming in and how we can best work with them.

SPRING MAGICK & RENEWAL MEDITATION JOURNEY WITH BREATHWORK

The Breathwork is optional, but encouraged as it really takes things to the next level. Breathwork raises energy which can be directed for healing, divine connection and into your magickal intention! Breathwork moves a tremendous amount of new prana into the body (not just oxygen), which flushes old energy out, all the while gracefully and powerfully opening the heart as well as other energy centers - the KEY. This is a foolproof way to open the heart center and reconnect with The Force, both within you and all around you.

Breathwork is an incredible healing modality for releasing old emotional energy, bringing in new energy, and it is quite safe. Though rare, there are some Possible Contraindications/Interactions we'd like to let you know about.
